The new Indian office is the agency’s fifteenth office globally, keeping with the agency’s philosophy of being present in key decision-making markets and achieving maximum coverage for brands worldwide.
In the past, Imagination has produced campaigns for India out of its international offices, Mark Barrett, Imagination’s CEO, Asia Pacific said.
However increase in demand and bigger creative opportunities has merited a permanent presence within India, he said.
“Imagination’s entry into India is a manifestation of the structured growth plan of our business,” Mr Barrett said.
“India is an exciting and an exponentially blooming market. Imagination aims to strengthen the footing of our global and Indian clients, and we are geared to reach new heights through our distinctive approach to designing brand experiences and ability to transform our clients’ businesses through creativity.”
Imagination is also planning an office in Bangalore in future, he said.
Imagination has appointed Uday Vijayan, a senior and respected marketing and communications professional, as Director of Imagination India.
Mr Vijayan began his career in account management and has worked with global agencies including JWT, Bozell and GPJ.
His rich experience across durables, consumer goods, services and technology sectors are set to drive Imagination’s India growth.
Mr Vijayan is responsible for all aspects of the Indian operations, from setting up a team that driven by the agency’s vision to building client respect for the agency.
To mark Imagination’s entry into the Indian market, Imagination created a range of unique and distinctive experiences for world-class brands such as Land Rover, Jaguar, Ford and Tata Motors at Auto Expo 2012 in Delhi.
While the Tata Motors theme was “Inspired by People”, the Ford theme was around the four brand pillars of Quality, Green, Smart and Safety.
The Ford pavilion also had a performing magician to communicate the ‘Blink of an Eye’ concept that covers the safety angle of Ford cars.
The stands were designed to provide a compelling brand experience for the Auto Expo visitors. In the past, Imagination designed the Tata Motors stall at Auto Expo in 2010.
Imagination’s global headquarters are in London, with its Asia Pacific headquarters based in Hong Kong since 2000.
Imagination’s other offices in the Asia Pacific region are in Beijing, Shanghai, Singapore, Sydney, Melbourne and Tokyo, demonstrating Imagination’s commitment to the diverse Asian market.
